- The Macau government proposed a cable car crossing in the 2021-2030 General Planning for Traffic and Land Transport of Macau. The project is still being researched, but the current design of the cable car would connect the Macau Science Center to the New Area Zone A which will require the system to travel over the sea. The system will be large capacity moving 6,000 people per hour, with 50-person cabins. For comparison, many bus routes in Macau carry 6,000 people per day.
- Steamboat Ski Resort is auctioning a one-of-a-kind medical cabin. The cabin is from 1986 and was intended to be used for medical emergencies to transport injured skiers. The cabin was rarely used for this purpose and sat in storage for decades. One side of the cabin opens allowing a stretcher to be loaded.
- The Morocco city of Agadir is finalizing the construction of a cable car set to open in July. The project began at a different location and was suspended in 2016 due to high seismic risks. In October of 2021, the project site was relocated. The system is currently in the control and testing phase. The $20 million cable car will connect the Tildi bridge to the Kasbah of Agadir Oufella via a 6-minute ride. The cable car is a Doppelmayr D-Line.
- The opening of the cable car connecting Switzerland and Italy is delayed until 2023. The Matterhorn Alpine Crossing cable car is a 3S system connecting the Plateau Rosa to the summit of Piccolo Cervino (Klein Matterhorn). The project delay is due to Covid, challenges of working at high elevations, and an especially snowy winter. The system is built by Leitner. The cable car will have the largest elevation difference in Europe.
