  • A new gondola system, the Dharamshala Skyway, has opened in India. The 7.75 km monocable detachable gondola (MDG) system with the capacity to move 1,000 people per hour connects the tourist destinations of Dharamshala and Mcleodganj. The travel time between the two locations has been cut to nine minutes compared to several hours during peak tourist season. The ₹207 crore ($27.8 million USD) was financed through a public-private-partnership between Dharamshala Ropeway Limited and Himachal Pradesh’s tourism and civil aviation department.
