- Eighty containers have arrived in the Dominican Republic for their new cable car. The containers contain the pieces for the station equipment and 25 towers. All parts for the system are expected to arrive by February 2022 with hopes to be open by 2023. Although POMA is still the manufacturer, compared to the first system, more work is being done by locals for this line.
- Aspen is attempting to bring more awareness to climate change with a new piece of art atop Aspen Mountain. The art is a gondola cabin melting and is intended to boost awareness of the impacts global warming is having on the environment and specifically the impacts to snow, winter sports, and humanity.
- Mi Teleferico in Bolivia is the largest cable car in the world. The system provides incredible views of La Paz, while being the safest transit option when compared to subways, trains, cars, or buses. Cable cars in La Paz are commonly used by residents as demonstrated by tens of thousands of passengers per week.
- The cold weather has impacted the efficiency of Whistler’s Creekside Gondola. On Christmas day two cabins collided in the terminal due to issues with the spacing mechanism. The cold temperatures sometimes affect the spacing for a variety of reasons. In the last eight days the system has had three maintenance stops with two of the three lasting nearly an hour.
