- A public transit proposal in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania may include a gondola. The proposed gondola would connect the Strip and Hill district, and Hazelwood. In the past there have been several gondola ideas for Pittsburgh because of their feasibility due to the hilly terrain. The Port Authority of Allegheny County is looking for public feedback on the idea.
- The French resort of Méribel sold 115 cable car cabins which were first used for the 1992 Olympics. Each cabin was sold for €500, but demand was so high the site crashed. Cable cars are often repurposed into everything from green houses to gazebos.
- The first in-person open house for the Little Cottonwood Canyon project drew about 400 residents . In the first two weeks of public comment, 2,500 people let the Utah Department of Transportation know which alternative they preferred, a gondola or a dedicated bus lane. - The Burnaby City Council believes more consultation with impacted residents needs to be done before deciding to advance the gondola project. Although TransLink has conducted two public engagement surveys that both showed over 80% approved of the gondola, the council believes properties impacted by the gondola should be properly compensated and that the transit company has not done enough to ensure that.
