- Doppelmayr has introduced the ‘Bike Cab’ Gondola. The new gondola design is holds up to eight bikes, creating a simple, secure, and comfortable way to transport of bicycles. The bike rack rotates at a slow speed to allow the bikes to be placed and removed easily.
- The Kurdistan Region Prime Minister officially announced a cable car project on Duhok’s Zawa Mountain. The tourism project is intended to diversify the region’s economy at an estimated cost of $30 million. The system is designed to have 26 eight-person-cabins and a travel time of 10 minutes.
- The new AirTrain system at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, USA is estimated to cost $2 billion. The AirTrain will replace the troublesome 25-year-old monorail with a 2.5-mile elevated guideway system linking terminals and other new developments. A monorail is classified as a bottom supported cable-propelled transit.
