- The construction of the 3 km cable car in Toulouse in France is advancing after delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The system was intended to be open by Christmas of 2020, but due to the pandemic the project is now expected to be operational by the end of summer 2021. - Planning efforts continue for the unique development on Swansea’s Kilvey Hill in the United Kingdom. The proposed development will feature a cable car from the hilltop to the riverbank Hafod Copperworks site, luge tracks, hilltop food and drink facilities, and ziplines. The project is being carried out by Swansea Council and New Zealand-based Skyline Enterprises. The cable car attraction in Swansea will be Skyline Enterprises first outside of New Zealand.
- Penang is seeking private investors for its cable car project. Funding for the project was originally coming from the Perikatan Nasional government, however that funding was withdrawn in April. The state government is receiving proposals until late May 2021 for the estimated RM150 million project.
- The recently unveiled Dubai Summit project includes construction of a 5.4 km cable car to boost tourism. The cable car will transport tourists from the Hatta Dam area to the Umm Al-Nsour Summit. The chosen cable car route will pass over the Hatta Dam Lake and the Upper Dam Lake where the hydroelectric station is being built and up to the summit of Umm Al-Nsour.
