- The Sea to Sky Gondola company is offering a $250,000 reward related to vandalism that happened in September. The Canadian attraction is looking for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for cutting the cable. This was the second time the gondola has been vandalized. The first incident cost the company more than $5 million and took six months to repair.
- A start-up company called Upbus in western Germany is looking at a new transit alternative that would function as both a bus and cable car. The concept is for buses to be able to convert from automated road vehicles into gondolas and vice versa. In general, cable cars are starting to be used in cities across Germany, though there is still resistance.

The alternatives are to address both current congestion and future demand, with an emphasis on transit, not improvements for single-passenger vehicles. One sub-alternative suggests building a six-mile cable car to travel over the mountains.
