- The state of Penang in Malaysia may be looking for private funding to build a cable car from Penang Hill to the Botanic Gardens. The project was originally backed with federal funds, however they have been withdrawn by the Perikatan Nasional, an unofficial ruling political alliance. The cable car is slated to assist the existing funicular with the growing number of visitors. A total of 1.38 million people visited Penang Hill in 2019.
- Enniscorthy, Ireland plans a cable car to boost tourism. The cable car would travel between the Turret Rocks area of Templeshannon and Enniscorthy Castle. The master plan is broken into three phases, with the proposed cable car slated for Phase 3. The project is estimated to cost about €13.1 million.
- Snow King ski resort in Jackson, Wyoming gets the green light to build a new gondola. The new gondola will replace the old Cougar lift, which is being relocated 250 feet uphill. Construction will begin at the Phil Baux Park with the loading station. The zip line was also approved despite not having the support of locals.
- The Manakamana Cable Car company in Nepal is paying employees their full salaries during the lockdown period. The cable car has been closed for four months due the pandemic. Originally the company paid its 150 employees 50% of their salaries in March and 40% in May, June, and July. The company has decided to pay 100% of salaries from here forward, as well as retroactively pay salaries at 100% for the past four months. The cable car will not be opening until COVID-19 has been contained.
