First introduced in 1983, the iconic OMEGA cabin has been redesigned with rider comfort and experience at the core of its make over. This model is one of the world’s most popular carrier designs as it has been produced more than 50,000 times and is now entering its fifth generation.
Coined as the OMEGA V, the cabin’s interior and seating arrangement has been reconfigured to ensure the best possible views for passengers. Ergonomic seating with a 460mm seat width provides ample space for riders. A cabin door width of 900m also enables riders of all mobility levels to seamlessly board and disembark with ease.
Air conditioning and active ventilation systems in the cabin allow for simple integration of the cabin onto any ropeway system regardless of where it is built. CWA Constructions — a Swiss manufacturer that is a member of the Doppelmayr/Garaventa Group — is behind the design ingenuity and creativity of the OMEGA V.
To build upon its status as an international bestseller, electromechanical doors are a new option for the OMEGA V which allows for electronic monitoring, reversing and preventative maintenance. In particular, the new carrier has been fine-tuned to accommodate the new features of Doppelmayr’s next-generation ropeways — the D-Line.
Since the cabins are designed with precise Swiss craftsmanship and a durable aluminum lightweight construction, the OMEGA V is built to last. It is undoubtedly a perfect addition for all seasons and usages, including winter, summer and/or urban transport applications.
