A quick look at some of the things that happened this week in the world of cable cars, urban gondolas and cable propelled transit:
- According to some new sources, there are plans for even more urban cable cars in La Paz and El Alto. If these ambitious plans are carried through, virtually all neighbourhoods in the city will be connected by CPT.
- A lighting strike has damaged the motor assembly and power generator on the Alaverdi Cable Car in Armenia. The system is apparently the only commuter cable car in the country. It was built to efficiently transport copper mine workers from one side of the town to the other.
- Georgia Straight profiles the Teleferico do Alemao in Rio de Janeiro and examines the massive transformations that are happening in the favela community ahead of the World Cup.
