A quick look at some of the things that happened this week in the world of cable cars, urban gondolas, and cable propelled transit:
- Local developers in Seattle unveil their plan to build a east-west connection with CPT technology. The ~1km system is envisioned to travel between Washington State Convention Center and the waterfront in 5 minutes.
- The Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish, British Columbia — scheduled to open this May — is expected to not only bring in 300,000 annual visitors, but will make many more trails and recreational opportunities available to seniors and individuals with less mobility.
- And in case you’re planning to visit London to ride the Emirates Air Line cable car, please be aware that the system is scheduled to undergo annual maintenance between March 17-23.
