A quick look at some of the things that happened this week in the world of cable cars, urban gondolas, and cable propelled transit:
- Nantes — a city of 900,000 residents in West France — can now be officially added to the ever-growing list of French municipalities who are looking to study and/or build cable cars. Currently, Lyon, Grenoble, Marseille, Brest, Toulouse, and Créteil are all in the various planning and design phases of implementing an urban gondola.
- Ticket prices for the upcoming Squamish Sea to Sky Gondola in British Columbia have been revealed. A single ride for an adult starts at $35, while an annual pass if $99. Families have the option to a yearly pass for $249. With the cabins being installed next month, the system is on schedule to open in May 2014.
- To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Paradiski Resort (located in the French Alps), the resort will feature a death defying high-wire walk between 2 cabins on the Vanoise Express Aerial Tram.
