A quick look at some of the things that happened this week in the world of cable cars, urban gondolas, and cable propelled transit:
- The “Syndicat des transports d’Iles de France” validated both route and technology for an urban cable car project in Val-de-Marne (France). The next step will be public consultation and implementation planned for 2016-2018. They’ve named the cable car “Téléval”. Details : 4.4 km – 4 stations – € 72 million.
- SIGMA (cabin manufacturer for cable transport) won a contract for the construction of a cable car in the city of Ankara, Turkey. It will provide 106 cabins with 10 person capacities. Details : 3 km – 4 stations – 2400 pphpd.
- Two companies, one French, another from Gibraltar are now racing to build the first Moroccan cable planned for 2016. Details : 6 km – 4 stations.
