A quick look at some of the things that happened this week in the world of cable cars, urban gondolas, and cable propelled transit:
- Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat continues to build support for a CPT line in his city. If he’s successful, the system will be open by 2015 and will connect passengers to the area of Shar Ha’ashpos (Dung Gate).
- If you’re travelling to Taipei next week to do some sightseeing, you should probably note that the Maokong Gondola will be closed for maintenance and inspection from May 13 to May 31.
- Good news for the Mount Wellington Cable Car proposal — the Liberal government in Hobart, Australia announces that should they win the next election, they will seek to amend legislation to allow development on Mount Wellington.
- Innovation Excellence writer Yann Cramer gives his take on why we’ll see more and more urban cable car projects in the near future.
