Manakamana – Cable Car Film at TIFF

If you like film festivals, cable cars and happen to be visiting Toronto this upcoming weekend, then you may be in luck. Manakamana, a movie about passengers riding the Manakamana cable car (map) is set to make its North American debut at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

The movie follows 11 pilgrims as they make their way up to the scared Manakamana temple, located 104km west of Kathmandu, Nepal. According to online sources, the system first opened in 1998, is 2.8km long and has a capacity of 600 passengers.
